It was an honor to have represented Nepal in this extremely challenging event, competing with the best in the world. I will always cherish this opportunity that my country gave me. Though the circumstances were very difficult I tried my best and gave my all. I fell short and disappointed many. But I hope someday I can do better and bring more glory to my country. I would like to thank sincerely and with great gratitude all the people who supported me generously and graciously, who sent me their good wishes on the finale of Miss International, who prayed for my success, knowing that my success was also the success of our country.<\/p>\n<p>In this context I would like to offer a clarification. It appears from several posts on social media that some statements I made at Showa University (which was purely a discussion and not a speech) were misunderstood. I was speaking about some gender realities of Nepal that I have personally encountered but even though I didn&#8217;t mean wrong, I was misunderstood. These do not represent all the realities of Nepal. But they do represent a known reality of Nepal. It was not my intention to suggest anything beyond that. I do hope my critics understand that I was speaking on behalf of a proportion of Nepali women about whom many others have also have spoken in the past and continue to speak in the present, both in Nepal and outside. I hope together we can all address the urgent problems of our country and move forward constructively and harmoniously.
